1. Introduction
      1. By submitting an entry for consideration, each entrant is taken to agree to the following terms and procedures as determined by Octomedia Pty Ltd (“Octomedia”). These terms and procedures are subject to change from time to time without notice.
    2. Payment
      1. The entry cost for each submission is AUD$250, or AUD$1000 for 5 submissions. These prices are non-negotiable.
    3. Important Dates
      1. Submissions open on Thursday 1 September 2016;
      2. All entries are due by Wednesday 15 February 2017 at 11.59 PM;
      3. Judging will commence on Tuesday 21 February 2016;
      4. Finalists will be announced in the April issue of Inside Retail Magazine;
      5. Winners are announced on Thursday 30 March 2017.
      6. These dates are subject to change without notice.
    4. Judging Process
      1. The judging process for each award category will involve the following:
        1. Five judges will be supplied a set of procedures and guidelines and will review submissions over a two-day period at the Octomedia Pty Ltd office in Sydney.
        2. Finalists will then be announced and featured in Octomedia publications from 20 April 2016 onwards.
        3. The finalist submissions will then be submitted to a research company chosen by Octomedia and will be presented to consumers who will then vote to determine the recipients of the various prizes offered in the competition.
    5. Criteria
      1. Entries will be judged on the basis of answers provided by entrants to a series of questions related to the relevant topic/s as well as award features. The content of these questions will be decided in advance by Octomedia and are non-negotiable.
      2. Awards are reflective of campaigns, projects and activities between March 2016 – February 2017
      3. Each submission must include supporting documents, research, and evidence of insight to support the submission.
      4. The textual content of any individual submission must not exceed 500 words, unless expressly specified otherwise by Octomedia.
      5. By submitting an entry, each entrant is taken to submit to the decision of the judges, which is final and non-negotiable. No correspondence will be entered into in respect of the judges’ decisions or any other related matters.
      6. If for any reason a winner does not take the prize or an element of the prize by the time stipulated by Octomedia, then the prize or that element of the prize will be forfeited.
    6. Expenses
      1. All expenses are the responsibility of the entrant. Octomedia cannot be held liable for any damage, loss, or other expenses incurred in the course of or as a result of an entrant’s participation in this competition (including expenses related to taxation).
      2. Prizes are not redeemable for cash, credit or product and no exchanges are offered. Octomedia accepts no responsibility for any variation in the value of the prize (or part thereof).
      3. Winners may use, at their own expense, the official Awards stamp on their communications and media channels after and not before the announcement of finalists on 11 May 2016.
    7. Privacy
      1. Each entrant’s personal information (“PI”) is collected to enable Octomedia to administer and promote this competition and the winner. The PI of winners may be provided to third parties who are assisting Octomedia, including prize suppliers, deliverers and authorities that regulate competitions. Entrants who fail to provide all requested PI may be determined by Octomedia at its sole discretion to be ineligible to win a prize. Errors and omissions may be accepted at Octomedia’s discretion. Failure by Octomedia to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights.
      2. Subject to cl. 7(a), Octomedia will not publish the content of any submission or share it with any third party without authorisation from the entrant.
      3. The collection, use and disclosure of personal information provided in connection with this competition is further governed by the Privacy Policy found on the Octomedia website. All entrants are taken to have read and understood the Privacy Policy.
      4. General Conference/Event Privacy Notice. In registering for a conference or event that we manage, relevant details will be incorporated into a delegate list for the benefit of all delegates (name and organisation only), and may be made available to parties directly related to the conference including Octomedia, the client, venues and accommodation providers (for the purpose of room bookings and conference options), key sponsors (subject to strict conditions) and parties associated with relevant conferences. Should you not wish for your details to be passed on for the above purposes, email the relevant conference email address (found on the online registration page) or [email protected] Please be aware that photos will be taken at events and provided to the conference client and these may be used for promotion purposes digitally or on print mediums.
    8. Liability
      1. Octomedia shall not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) or for any personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with the competition except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law.
      2. Octomedia assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, corruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorised access to, or alteration of, entries. Octomedia is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer networks and systems, servers, or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any e-mail or entry to be received by Octomedia on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website, or any combination of them, including any injury or damage to any entrant’s or any other person’s computer related to or resulting from participation or downloading any materials in this competition.
      3. These terms and procedures and the rights and obligations of both parties shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the Commonwealth of Australia and both parties irrevocably agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales in respect of any dispute which arises hereunder.
    9. General
      1. Octomedia reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who Octomedia has reason to believe has breached any of these conditions, or engaged in any unlawful or other improper misconduct calculated to jeopardize the fair and proper conduct of the competition. Octomedia’s legal rights to recover damages or other compensation from such an offender are reserved.
      2. If for any reason the competition is not capable of running as planned, including due to infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other causes beyond the control of Octomedia, which corrupt or affect the administration security, fairness or integrity or proper conduct of this competition, Octomedia reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process or to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the competition.
      3. In the case of the intervention of any outside agent or event which naturally changes the result or prevents or hinders its determination, including but not limited to vandalism, power failures, tempests, natural disasters, acts of God, civil unrest, strikes; Octomedia may in its absolute discretion cancel the event and recommence it from the start on the same conditions at a later date.
      4. Octomedia and prize suppliers will take no responsibility for prizes lost or damaged in transit.
      5. All entries become the property of Octomedia. As such, Octomedia is the owner of all copyright and other intellectual property in the winning responses.
